Teams now share a piece of UCBAC Susquehanna lead

On Monday, Rising Sun and Edgewood, two boys soccer teams looking for a decisive win underneath of the the bright afternoon sun, squared off in UCBAC action. As the sun began to fade, Edgewood beamed with a 3-2 win.
Both teams were coming off of win streaks (Rising Sun 3 games, Edgewood 2 games) and each looked to outplay their opponent. Rising Sun took an early lead in the 8th minute when Matthew Christian was able to deliver a goal for his team. Edgewood, refusing to let their heads hang, answered back in the 35th minute with a goal from the electric Ryan Dean, assisted by teammate Taran Rowell.
Edgewood’s success was short-lived as Rising Sun’s Jackson Sopa, took advantage of a penalty kick that put his team back in the lead. The game entered halftime with Rising Sun leading, 2-1. Almost immediately after the game resumed, Dean once again scored off of a well placed shot to tie the game. Dean completed his hat trick in the 63rd minute, giving his team the lead along with the win as Rising Sun was unable to respond in the closing minutes of the game. Both keepers had an exceptional game with 3 saves each.
With the win Edgewood improved to 4-5 overall and 3-2 in the UCBAC Susquehanna Division. Rising (4-4 overall) is now 3-1 in the league. Also with nine points at the top of the standings is Harford Tech (3-1).
