Mount St. Joseph had no answers for the Georgetwon Prep running game on Saturday in Bethesda.  Led by Bobby Gribbin and Bobby Rutland, the host Little Hoyas churned out 387 yards on the ground with Gribbin and Rutland combining for 267 of those yards in a 37-7 MIAA A Conference football rout for Prep.

Gribbin ran for 122 yards on eight carries with 94 coming on a third quarter touchdown run, which capped Georgetown Prep’s scoring for the day.  Rutland, the Little Hoyas quarterback, carried the ball 12 times for a game-high 145 yards.  He scored the day’s first touchdown with a 75 yard first quarter sprint.

Placekicker Ed Brennan also had a big day, kicking field goals of 22, 27 and 35 yards.  He also converted all four of his extra point attempts for a 13 point day.

Dominic Bryan scored on a 25-yard run in the second quarter when Georgetown Prep scored 23 points to build a 30-0 halftime lead.  Bryan finished the day with 50 yards rushing on four carries.

Joel Blockowicz also scored on a 32-yard interception return for the Hoyas (3-2, 1-1).

After starting the season at 3-0, St. Joe has now dropped two straight and is 0-2 in the A Conference.
