Matt Phillips helped Chapelgate Christian continue its strong start to the 2010-11 season as he led the Yellowjackets to a 63-41 win over visiting Saints Peter & Paul, Friday, in a MIAA C Conference basketball contest.
Phillps scored a game-high 23 points to top three Chapelgate players in double figures. That trio included 11 points from Jordan Lawrence and 10 from Winfield Taylor. In addition, Nate Frierson had seven assists, Chisom Uzoskie had seven steals and four blocks and Duke Raoum had five blocks.
Gil D’Abora led Saints Peter & Paul with 17 points, while Kemp Bronjos and Drew Minarski combined for 15 points.
Chapelgate is now is 7-2 overall and 2-0 in the C Conference. Saints Peter & Paul saw its overall record even off at 4-4. The Sabres also dropped to 0-2 in the conference.
