Huskies top North Harford, 6-2, in the final

The championship game of the Harris Tournament, Saturday at Havre de Grace, came down to a pair of UCBAC Chesapeake Division baseball rivals, with No. 5 Patterson Mill defeating North Harford, 6-2, to take the title.

North Harford pitcher Robert Duffy made the start in the championship game and retired the first 10 Patterson Mill batters he faced, keeping the Huskies scoreless through three. Patterson Mill, however, broke through with three runs in the fourth as Thomas Krah ignited the offense with a two-run double.

The Huskies tacked on two in the fifth as Nathan Vujanic and Max Elliott hit back-to-back doubles to start the inning and Austin Koehn added an RBI single. Christian Shertzer plated the finals run with an RBI sac fly in the sixth.

Derek McManus, who had two hits in the ballgame, plated the only two runs for the Hawks with a two-run home run in the bottom of the sixth.

In the opening game, Patterson Mill defeated host Havre de Grace, 21-0, in five innings. The Huskies scored 11 times in the second to end all doubt. Nick Salerno was 3-for-3 with two RBI, while Kragh, Ben Lust and Keegan Miller all went 2-for-2.
