A battle between field hockey heavyweights in the Upper Chesapeake Athletic Conference ended in a scoreless tie Wednesday.
Patterson Mill High School goalkeeper Gabby Brooks tallied 11 saves and C. Milton Wright goalkeeper Ashley Van Scyoc added eight as the showdown between UCBAC Chesapeake division squads went into double overtime and strokes but ended in a 0-0 tie.
“Both goalies performed outstanding,” CMW coach Bonnie Schnell said. “We were consistently centering and shooting on goal and Gabby was there everytime. Ashley Van Scyoc was also strong today stopping shots and a penalty stroke.”
The Mustangs (6-5-1 overall, 2-2-1 in the league) will visit Fallston on Friday while Patterson Mill (5-1-2, 2-0-1) visits Rising Sun.
