Park School jumped out to a quick lead in its MIAA C Conference contest with visiting Indian Creek, on Wednesday, with balanced scoring, and battled its way to a 49-45 victory.

Six men scored in the first quarter, as the Bruins built a 13-8 advantage.  However, Indian Creek went on a big run, which started at the end the first quarter, and rallied to a 25-22 lead at the half.

The lead changed hands five times in second half, with Indian Creek going up by as many as seven points on an and-one dunk by Tashoun Barnes. Park cut lead to 34-32 at end of third with 5-0 run.

With two and a half minutes left in game, IC tried to hold the ball. Park had to commit five straight fouls as they only had two team fouls.  A missed a free throw with 58 seconds left provided an opportunity for Park junior Mark Rothleitner, who grabbed the board and went full court to score, putting Park up by one.  The Eagles missed during their next possession and Rothleitner was fouled on the rebound.  From there, Park continued to hit its free throws and sealed the win.

The victory was the 199th in the Park career of Bruin head coach Josh Wolf.  Wolf is in his second stint as the team’s head coach.  He served in the position for a total of 15 years overall.
