Park School’s defense answered the challenge Wednesday, besting host Mount Carmel, 1-0, in an IAAM C Conference soccer game. Zoe Sellman had the game’s only goal with an assist from Autumn Cohen.

The Bruins’ defense led by senior sweeper Lauren Sibel and outside back Johanna Bush locked down Mount Carmel’s attack that came in with 48 goals scored. Goalkeeper Arianna Strome denied all six shots on goal for the Bruins (8-1-1 overall, 5-0-1 IAAM C).

Park’s midfield, led by senior Aiden Piper and sophomore Rebecca Schwartz, kept the Cougars (9-6, 4-3 IAAM C) from building any momentum. The Bruins have allowed five goals this season.

Park hosts Oldfields School Friday while Mount Carmel welcomes Indian Creek.
