Using an aggressive, attacking style, Park School was able to keep St Timothy’s on its heels much of the game, as the Bruins registered a 4-0 shutout victory, Tuesday, in an IAAM B Conference quarterfinal indoor soccer playoff game at DuBurns Arena.

Senior cocaptain Aiden Piper and junior Arianna Strome led the Bruins with two goals and an assist each. Piper and senior co-captain Sophie DeFries, as well as sophomores Rebecca Schwartz and Rebecca Kolodner, controlled the middle of the field, pushing the ball forward on the attack and helping blunt St Tim’s offensive thrust.

Senior co-captain Lauren Sibel, junior Emily King and sophomore Johanna Busch joined junior keeper Nikki Casper in shutting out St Tim’s.

“Although we (Park) controlled the tempo, the game was close at the onset. But Aiden came through, as she has every game for us, put one in the back of the net and off we went,” said Park coach Robert Piper.  “As she has been all year, Nikki played rock solid in the goal and coordinated the defense from the back.”
