Dunbar was in Washington, D.C. on Saturday to face Eastern (DC) and the Poets led wire-to-wire to claim a 71-58 victory.
Aaron Parham led the Poets with an impressive 17 point, eight rebound performance and Iakeem Alston addded 16 for Dunbar.
Despite never trailing, the game was close most of the way. Dunbar led 36-30 at the half and built its biggest lead, of 13, with an 8-0 run at the end of the third quarter.
Eastern closed its gap back to eight in the fourth quarter, but the Poets were able to stretch the final margin back to 13.
