Senior center Greg Lewis had 16 points and 10 rebounds, and Shakir Brown and RJ Williams each added 15 as No. 2 St. Frances Academy boys’ basketball remained unbeaten on the young season with a 63-45 over No. 20 Parkville in the final game of the Under Armour Invitational Saturday evening.

The east Baltimore school (3-0) led by as many as 20 points in the second half  to win its second outing in as many days. Friday evening, St. Frances routed No. 5 Digital Harbor, 72-50.

The Panthers never trailed after an 8-0 run gave them an 18-10 lead in the second quarter. St. Frances led 25-20 at intermission then advanced the lead to 34-24 after a layup by Josh Forney off a pass from Lewis.

St. Frances gained its largest lead at 61-41 after Kenneth Solomon got a loose ball and scored with under three minutes remaining in regulation. Williams had four steals and three assists for the Panthers, and Brown finished with six rebounds.

Senior center James Melton led Parkville (0-2) with 19 points, and Jamal Williams added 13. Knights coach Rod Norris said his team has struggled offensively to start the season against the likes of Calvert Hall (lost 64-52) and St. Frances.

“I’m still learning my team,” said Norris, who has one returning starter (Melton) from last season. “If you don’t get into what you want to do on offense and you can’t finish off the ball, it just mounts. We scrapped in the first half and stayed in the game. It’s a work in progress.”

Parkville hosts Perry Hall in a Baltimore County non-league match Wednesday. St. Frances travels to Archbishop Spalding for a MIAA A Conference/Baltimore Catholic League match Tuesday evening before hosting No. 1 City College Saturday at home at 6 p.m.
