St. Vincent Pallotti High girls’ basketball team rallied in the fourth quarter Wednesday for a 39-36 victory over No. 9 St. Frances Academy in an IAAM A Conference contest. Trailing 26-23 entering the final quarter of regulation, the Laurel school (4-2, 3-1 IAAM A) outscored the defending IAAM A champs , 16-10.
Carly Conley led a balanced scoring effort for the 13th ranked Panthers with seven points and six rebounds. Seton Hall University-bound center Chizoba Ekedigwe scored six points and pulled down a team-high nine rebounds. Tiffany Padgett and Jordan Crockett also scored six.
Pallotti heads to the Bullis Prep Holiday Classic in Montgomery County where it will play Friday thru Sunday. St. Frances heads to New Jersey for the Festival of the Phoenix Mixer where it plays St. Rose (N.J.) Friday evening at Kean College. Saturday morning, the Panthers play Blair Academy at South Orange (N.J.) Middle School.
