Playing on its home field at Fairland Regional Park, St. Vincent Pallotti charged into the IAAM C Conference field hockey semifinals with a 2-0 win over visiting Baltimore Lutheran, on Tuesday.

The Panthers received scores from Jill Pavacka and Gaby Romero, while Caroline Harvey provided an assist.  In addition, Amanda Maloney stopped seven shots to earn the save.

The win advances Pallotti into Thursday’s semifinals where they will take on top-seeded Annapolis Area Christian for a spot in Sunday’s title game.

The lower half of the bracket featured a pair of upsets, as seventh-seeded Oldfields knocked off second-seeded St. Timothy’s and sixth-seeded Key upended third-seeded Catholic High.  This sets up a semifinal showdown between the bracket’s two lowest seeds, on Thursday at Key, and one of them will advance to the championship game.
