Owings Mills linemen Donovan Smith has been selected to play in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl at the Alamodome in San Antonio Jan. 8.

Smith, 6-foot-6, 260-pound offensive tackle is the area’s top line prospect and rated No. 4 overall in Maryland by Rivals.com. Smith’s uncle, George Smith, said the senior is considering Maryland, Michigan State, North Carolina State, Penn State, Syracuse and UCLA.

Smith joins DeMatha Catholic linemen Cyrus Kouandjio and Good Counsel defensive back Blake Countess as Maryland representatives for the contest which will be televised live Jan. 8 on NBC. Kouandjio is the nation’s No. 1 offensive line prospect.

Countess played for Gilman School before transferring to the Montgomery County private power after his sophomore season.
