Scorpions stay undefeated with a big win over Hammond

Leading by just one point at halftime, Oakland Mills erupted for four third quarter touchdowns, Friday night at home, and the Scorpions went on to defeat visiting Hammond, 42-20, to remain undefeated in Howard County football.

Hammond struck first in the opening quarter as Nathaniel Lamb scored on a 1-yard run. Lamb also added a 5-yard TD run at the end of the second quarter and 2-yard scoring burst in the third quarter for the Bears.

John Tatum scored the first points for Oakland Mills with a 2-yard first quarter run and he also scored on a 2-yard run in the third quarter.. Early in the second quarter, Kayne Holland tossed a 12-yard touchdown pass to Kylik Perry to give the Scorpions the lead for good.

Holland added a 33-yard touchdown run in the third quarter and Trevin McHargh scored on runs of 44- and 5-yards.

Oakland Mills joins Atholton and Long Reach as the only 3-0 teams in Howard County while Hammond fell to 1-2.
