Britney Magee drove in three runs and tossed a three-hitter on the mound, leading Northeast High to a 12-1 five inning decision over South River in an Anne Arundel County softball action Wednesday. Sabrina Gordon, Keirstin Henderson and Brooke Steinbach each two hits and an RBI for Northeast (3-0 overall and Anne Arundel), which scored six runs in the opening inning.
Magee scored two runs while striking out five. Taylor Dittmar and Crystal Heffington each scored three runs and Sareena Proctor had an RBI.
Jordan Sganga knocked in South River’s lone run in the third inning. Michelle Elliott and Ashleigh Ruggiero each had a single.
South River (0-4, 0-3 Anne Arundel) hosts Old Mill Friday afternoon in league play. Northeast travels to Cape St. Clair for a key match with No. 2 Broadneck.
