Accepting four forfeits gave the North Harford Hawks a free 24 points agains the Joppatowne Mariners, Wednesday, but it would take an added five wins to pull-out the eventual winning final, 40-27.
Opening the meet with three straight wins, the Hawks strung together a Smith major at 130, Bruno decision at 135 and Carman fall at 140 to start the meet with a lead, and then traded bouts with the Mariners for the rest of the night.
Joppatowne had five wins on the night, seeing falls from Volz (160), Martin (189), Henderson (285) and Sanders (125) with an added decision by Gash at 145.
North Harford saw other winners in Andrews (152) and McCurry (215), with four other wrestlers getting foreits.
