When Mount de Sales swept Seton Keough on the Gators’ homecoming last month, the Sailors said afterwards they didn’t want the Gators spoiling their homecoming.

The No. 3 Sailors made sure their homecoming went according to plan with a four-set victory over seventh-ranked Seton Keough Saturday afternoon in Catonsville. Senior hitter Hannah Schmidt had 20 kills and four aces for the Sailors, and Caroline Casey had 14 kills.

Coming into Saturday’s match, Mount de Sales (8-1 overall, 5-0 IAAM A Conference) had yet to drop a match in league play. The Sailors got off to a great start with a 25-18 decision, but Seton Keough (6-2, 4-1) ended their streak with a 25-15 victory. Mount de Sales, the two-time defending league champs, came back with vengeance taking the final two games, 25-13 and 25-17.

Taylor Beaumont had 17 kills for Mount de Sales, and Chelsea Owensby provided 49 assists. Megan Sedney added 10 digs for the Sailors, who next plays at McDonogh School Wednesday. Seton Keough hosts St. Paul’s School Wednesday.
