Showing no let down following Saturday’s impressive win over previously top-ranked City College, which vaulted St. Frances into the top position in this week’s VSN Boys Basketball Top 20, the Panthers rolled to 7-0 on Monday with an 81-66 victory over visiting Friendship Academy.
St. Frances led by five after one quarter and outscored Friendship 21-9 in the second period as several Panthers turned in highlight reel performances.
Senior point guard RJ Williams, who committed to Loyola University over the weekend, celebrated that decision with his first career triple-double as he scored 17 points, dished out 13 assists and came up with 10 steals, to lead the Panthers.
On the inside, Greg Lewis turned in another solid performance with 12 points and five rebounds, while Josh Forney added five points and a career high 13 rebounds. In addition juior Shakir Brown had 14 points, seven rebounds and four steals, while Eddie Tarver netted 15 points.
Friendship Academy’s Michael Warren led all scorers with 29 points.
