The No. 9 River Hill Hawks sealed another win before the end of January, toping No. 18 Wilde Lake in a 48-27 in-county win.
Trading blows with the Wildecats throughout the meet, a string of pins between Messallam (189), Benedict (215) and Johnson (285) gave the Hawks a serious lead in the dual meet, which was closed with another three straight falls from Guthier (130), Baxter (135) and Cameron Kirby at 140 for the final.
Wilde Lake put points on the board with a number of falls from Harris (171), J. Trinh (112), Polonsky (119) and E. Trinh (125), and a match-opening decision from Coffied at 145 totaled the Wildecats’ 27 points.
Other winners for River Hill included decision-winners Mohammed (103) and Hand (152), with Noonan earning a forfeit at 160.
River Hill will next see No. 14 Hammond, Feb. 1, with the Wildecats taking on the Vikings of Mt. Hebron.
