Snider drives in three as the Dons win 11-0
In a makeup of game that was postponed on Friday, No. 8 Loyola opened its season, as well as its MIAA A Conference baseball schedule, with an 11-0 road win over St. Paul’s, in six innings, Saturday afternoon in Brooklandville.
The Dons opened their score two runs in the top of the third and four more in the fourth. They then put themselves in position for the run-rule victory with five runs in the sixth.
Jeffrey Snider was the hitting star, going 2-for-4 with a triple, three RBI’s and a run scored. Nate Beal and Dominic Dinoto also had two hits each. Dinoto, the Dons leadoff hitter added two walks, as he scored three runs and drove in one. Beal also had a double and two RBI’s. In addition, Emmett Reynolds had drove in a pair of runs.
Beal was also the winning pitcher, making the start and tossing four hitless innings, striking out eight and walking three. Stephen Schenning tossed the final two frames, allowing the only hit St. Paul’s managed and striking out two Crusaders.
