Emily Kim and Katie Murphy combined for five hits and allowed only two hits pitching as No. 8 C. Milton Wright High defeated Towson, 7-0, in the Class 3A North Region Section II final Wednesday.
The defending region champ Mustangs will play at No. 18 Lansdowne in the region final Friday afternoon. The winner advances to the state 2A final four at Bachman Park in Glen Burnie Tuesday afternoon.
Lansdowne routed Poly in the section I final Wednesday.
Kim went 3-for-4 with a RBI and scored two runs while Murphy had a pair of doubles and drove in two. Kim tossed five innings of one-hit ball before Murphy closed out the victory.
Breanna Miller finished with two RBI for C. Milton Wright (15-7 overall), and Lauren Meyers added a RBI double. Darby Pugh doubled for Towson.
Friday’s North final will be a rematch of 2016 contest, won by the Mustangs. The Bel Air school will seek a fourth straight region title.
