McLean and Diehl combine for 44 in Reds’ victory

With top ranked St. Frances running away with first place in the IAAM A Conference, a solid battle is brewing for second place and two of those contenders met in Laurel, Wednesday, with No. 7 Roland Park Country knocking off No. 3 St. Vincent Pallotti, 60-51.

The Reds (9-6 overall) improved to 4-2 in league play, forging a three-way tie for second place with the Panthers (11-3 overall) and St. John’s Catholic Prep.

RPCS senior Mir McLean continues to have a huge season, as she scored a game-high 23 points to lead the way. Sophia Diehl added 21.

Roland Park led by just two at the half, but pulled away from the Panthers down the stretch. Eniya Russel led the Panthers, scoring 21 points.
