Just a day after downing No. 5 Mount St. Joe, the No. 7 Archbishop Curlye Firars went back after the ranked squads of the MIAA, beating No. 13 Loyola, Friday, 37-34.

Jumping out to a huge lead, 31-7, the Friars won six of the first eight matches in the night, with bonus points coming in five of the wins to help establish the large lead.

Falls from Purnell Summers (171) and Avery Williams (189) complied with a Brett Przywara forfeit at 135, Chuckie Blankenship fall at 152, Brett Brigman major decision at 160 and Melvin Cross decision at 215 would allow the large lead to hold through a Loyola 12-point run.

A final attempt back at the win, Loyola won five of the last six bouts, seeing pins from David Mohler (103), and Walter Johnson (119), a decision by Ben Smist (125) and forfeits to Jordan Hurne (285) and Brad Graefe (139), but all was mute to a Vince Scarinzzi forfeit received at 112 to put the Friars in for the win.
