Bruins score 35 in first quarter; Ehrlich throws for three scores; defense scores twice


Senior quarterback Josh Quarterback threw two of his three touchdown passes, Davion White rushed for a score and the Broadneck defense scored two TDs, as the No. 7 Bruins overwhelmed host Meade for 35 first quarter points in their 49-12 Anne Arundel County football victory Friday night.
Ehrlich opened the scoring with a 21-yard toss to Kyle Pierce for a 7-0 lead. Late in the quarter he connected with Machi Evans for a 31-yard TD strike. Ehrlich also found Evans for a 14-yard score early in the second quarter and rushed for 10-yard TD, early in the third quarter, to cap Broadneck’s scoring.
Anthony Hawkins scored on a 28-yard pick return for the Bruins and Dominick Downs recovered a fumble in the end zone.
Broadneck improved to 3-1 overall, with their only loss coming to No. 2 Archbishop Spalding. The Bruins are also 2-0 in Anne Arundel County.
Meade slipped to 0-3 overall and 0-2 in the county.
