Huskies blank Rising Sun, 8-0, behind a big effort from Pitts
Facing a stretch of four games in four days to close the regular season, the No. 6 Patterson Mill softball team started the week on a high note, Monday, blanking Rising Sun, 8-0.
Dakota Pitts went seven strong innings in the circle, giving up no runs and only two hits and two walks, while striking out 10 Tigers.
Allie Cichocki led the way offensively going 2-for-3 with a walk. Madison Knight and Mackenzie Horton each went 2-for-4 with Knight collecting a double and two runs scored, while Horton added a run and two RBI’s.
In addition, Bea Orsini went 1-for-2 with a walk and a run and Caroline Michaels was 1-for2 with a sacrifice, a run scored, and two RBI’s. Meanwhile, Pitts, Tara Caprinolo and Katie Keech all added hits in the contest, scoring 2 runs, delivering an RBI, and scoring one run, respectively.
