John Carroll, ranked fourth in the VSN Girls Soccer poll, went on the road Friday to defeat Eastern Tech, 2-0, while both teams helped raise cancer awareness by wearing pink uniforms in a match played at CCBC-Essex stadium.

John Carroll played possession soccer getting forward in numbers to defeat the Mustangs. This was the second match in a row where the visiting Patriots put a damper on the home team’s Senior Appreciation day.

John Carroll scored the first goal of the match as senior Devin Hogan raced down the touch line in a quick counter attack that started in the back and sent a cross to charging sophomore Jordan Clarke.  This score held until the closing seconds of the first half when the Patriots strung together a combination of four passes with the last one moving to Clarke, who slid the ball to freshman Sophie Centi, who scored the fist goal in her high school career.

The second half saw more of the same as JC kept constant pressure on EVT sophomore keeper Alexis Lee, who finished the match with15 saves.
