Howard scores twice in 45-6 non-conference victory; No. 2 Mount St. Joe is next


The McDonogh football posted another big win, Friday night, as the Eagles hammered visiting Bishop Sullivan (VA), 45-6, to move to 7-0 in 2019.

Preseton Howard had big night, rushing for two touchdowns, including the game’s first score which gave the Eagles a 7-0 first quarter lead. He also scored the first TD of the second half, pushing McDonogh in front 24-0 at that time.

Giovanni Procaccini also rushed for a score in the second quarter and Harrison Beattie added a field goal to send the Eagles to the half with a 17-0 advantage.

At Ntantang added a rushing touchdown in the third quarter and Dante Trader broke off a 55-yard TD run in the fourth quarter. McDonogh’s final score came on a touchdown pass from Kris Jenner to Dane Swanson.

Things heat up for the Eagles next Saturday when they visit second-ranked Mount St. Joseph in a crucial MIAA A Conference encounter. The Eagles are 1-0 in conference play and St. Joe is 2-0.
