Woodward scores a pair in shutout victory
Idle since last Friday’s double-overtime loss to Calvert Hall in the Rief Cup, No. 2 Archbishop Curley got back on the field and back in the win column, Thursday, defeating No. 9 Hereford, 5-0, in a non-conference boys soccer match.
Curley raced out to a 3-0 halftime lead as they coasted past the Bulls (9-2-1), led by a pair of goals from Byce Woodward. Josef Ryan, Anthony Schlee and Adam Bruck also scored for the Friars (12-2-1).
Assists were provided by Scott Giampa, Nick Lawny, Kenny Clapp and Sal Schianodicola.
Hereford completed its regular season with this contest, while Curley prepares to meet No. 6 Loyola in an MIAA A Conference match on Saturday morning, as the Friars celebrate homecoming.
