Never holding a lead and briefly tying early in the meet, the No. 11 North County Knights fell victim to the Tuscarora Titans, Wednesday, losing a wrestling battle, 42-27.

In the loss, the Knights split the number of bouts won with the Titans, 7-7, but allowed all seven of their losses to come by way of fall, giving away 21 bonus-points while taking just six in the team’s 15-point loss.

With wins in the losing effort, North County was led by pinners Pat Hyde (220 pounds) and Lorenzo Maddox (285),  adding to five decision wins by Mick McMullen (126), Brad Montz (132), Collin Allexander (145) Greg Godwin (182) and Brandon Ballard (195).

Titans pinned in all seven of their wins, done so by Mark Gugliemini (106), Anthony Savage (113), Xavier Spruill (120), Chung Pham (138), Matt Wax (152), Billy Mills (160) and Austin Wezlaff (170).

With the loss, the Knights fell to 15-5 on the season, remaining 9-2 in Anne Arundel County action.
