Tenney, Isaac and Schultz produce three RBI’s each for the Bruins
In an old fashioned baseball slugfest, Saturday at Broadneck, the No. 13 Bruins opened their 2019 season with a 17-12 win over Wilde Lake.
The Bruins scored all 17 of their runs in the first four innings, including seven in the bottom of the third. Wilde Lake jumped on top with four in the top of the first and the Wildecats added one in the second. Broadneck, however, scored three in each of the first two innings, to go up 6-5, before busting open the game with seven in third.
Wilde Lake got three back in the third, and after the Bruins scored their final four runs in the fourth, the Wildecats scored two in the fifth and two more in the seventh.
Dylan Tenney was one of three Bruins with three RBI’s, as he went 2-for-2 with a home run and four runs scored. Matt Isaac and Ben Schultz also had three RBI’s each and they combined to score six runs. Schultz and Nichola Gatton, who drove in two, each had a double for the Bruins.
Myles Johnson led Wilde Lake with a 2-for-4 effort, including a home run. He scored three and drove in three. Grant Gladden had two doubles in five trips and scored a run, Will Zimmerman drove in two runs and Sam Balthis and Eli Fisher each produced a double.
