Stocum doubles twice; Bobcats break open tight contest with three in the fourth
No. 13 Bel Air scored single runs in each of the first three innings and then broke open a tight UCBAC Chesapeake Division baseball battle with three runs in the fourth, as the Bobcats thumped visiting Fallston, 8-1, Monday.
Matt Fino was 2-for-3 with three RBI’s and Liam Bowers went 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored. In addition, Jonah Einsig drove in two runs and scored one, while Josh Stocum had three hits, including two doubles, scoring three runs and driving in one.
Cam Kalandros and Evan Thatcher combined to limit the Cougars to just five hits. Kalandros made the start and struck out three, allowing four hits and the only Cougar run. Thatcher pitched the final 3.2 innings and allowed just one hit.
Kyle Moody knocked in Fallston’s only run with a sac fly in the top of the third.
Bel Air is now 7-1 overall and in the league, where it sits in first place. Fallston fell to 5-6 overall and 1-5 in the league.
