McLean scores 21 as Reds overpower Spalding

Senior star Mir McLean scored 21 points in what proved to be another routine IAAM A Conference basketball victory for top-ranked Roland Park Country School, Friday in Severna Park.

The Reds, who are 9-0 in the league, improved to 15-2 overall, as they gear up for big week in the IAAM. On Monday, RPCS will host No. 3 McDonogh before traveling to No. 2 St. Frances on Wednesday. The Reds defeated McDonogh by four in mid-December and routed St. Frances 10 days ago.

Against Spalding, the Reds jumped out to a 34-18 halftime lead. Ja’Niah Henson added 13 points for RPCS. No one for the Cavaliers (6-12, 1-7 IAAM A) scored in double-figures. Ryann Evans led the way with nine points, while Koi Sims and Morgan Pennick combined for 15.
