DeSmit nets a pair of goals for No. 1 Eagles

The McDonogh School girls soccer team, No. 1 in the VSN Girls Soccer Preseason Top 20 as well as the No. 1 team in the country according to some national polls, proved worthy of such recognition, Tuesday, as the Eagles easily dispatched of reigning Washington Catholic Athletic Conference champ Our Lady of Good Counsel,, 3-0.

McDonogh jumped out to a 2-0 first half lead as Baylee DeSmit and Soleil Belan scored goals. DeSmit then added a second goal, in the second half, to seal the outcome.

University of Tennessee commit Lily McCarthy also had a strong performance with a pair of assists.
