Cardinals win 4-1 in the City of Brotherly Love


Top-ranked Calvert Hall went on the road to Wyndmoor, Pa, Saturday afternoon, to challenge La Salle College High School (PA), one of the top teams in the Philly area, and the Cardinals dominated in a 4-1 victory.

The Cardinals, ranked No. 14 in the nation scored two goals in each half, to easily handle the Explorers who were also previously ranked in the Top 20 by PrepSoccer.net.

Rich Monath led the way two with a goals and an assist. David Peters and Ryan Belal tallied in the first half as the Hall built a 2-1 lead, followed by scores from Monath and Tyler Flynn in the final 40 minutes.

Rocco Pastore, Gabe Glikin and Will Andrus added assists for the Cards, who improved 14-1-1 as they played outside the MIAA A Conference for the first time this season.

On Monday, Calvert Hall will play outside the conference again as they host Dulaney before returning to league play on Wednesday at Gilman.
