Notre Dame Prep continued its great start to the 2010-2011 season, Friday, with a dominant first half which keyed a 56-22 win over visiting Bryn Mawr in IAAM B Conference basketball action.
On this night it was not an overwhelming offensive effort which helped the Blazers improve to 5-0 overall and 3-0 in the league, but rather their defense. Bryn Mawr was limited to just eight first half points as NDP built a 29-8 lead to take full control of the contest.
Senior Mary Kate Conway led the NDP offense with 11 points, while Katie McKenna added 10 points. The Blazers also received eight points each from Covie Stanwick and Sydney Tommins, with 10 players hitting the score sheet.
Bryn Mawr (5-5, 3-2) converted just 10 field goals in the contest and hurt itself with an 0-for-7 effort from the free throw line. Madeline Crowell scored nine points to lead the Mawrtians.
