Mount St. Joseph High boys’ basketball squad will match up Saturday evening against perennial national power DeMatha Catholic in the Battle of the Beltway Classic at Riverdale Baptist in Upper Marlboro.

Game time is 7 p.m.

It’ll be the first major test for the No. 4 Gaels (3-0), who’ve won their first three decisions by an average of 27 points. DeMatha, which lost one of the nation’s best point guard in Duke-commit Quinn Cook (now at Oak Hill Academy), again has a wealth of talent including Georgetown-bound forward Mikael Hopkins.

DeMatha, the reigning Washington Catholic Athletic Conference champs, is ranked No. 23 nationally by USA Today.
