Mount de Sales’ field hockey team needed a few extra minutes but in the end it came away with a 2-1 overtime victory over visitng Friends on Tuesday afternoon.
Julianna Shearer scored a goal in regulation and Abbie Tucker knocked home to winning goal for the Sailors (1-0-1 overall, 1-0 IAAM B).
Olivia Reed scored the lone Quaker (0-1, 0-1) goal. Friends goal keeper Hanna Gartner was bombared with shots and made 17 saves in the game.
The Quakers will have another league game on Friday when they host Mercy at 4 p.m. Mount de Sales travels to Glenelg Country also on Friday at 4 p.m.
