Cougars remain perfect with victory at McDonogh; Perry and Nnadozie lead way

Junior shooting guard Toby Nnadozie scored 19 points and Deon Perry added 18, leading Our Lady of Mount Carmel to a 66-53 victory over McDonogh School in a MIAA A Conference basketball contest in Owings Mills Monday afternoon.

The Cougars led 40-24 at halftime, courtesy of a 22-11 second quarter to improve to 3-0. The Old Eastern Avenue school and St. Frances Academy are the only unbeaten teams in the truncated MIAA A season.

Senior center Kevin Kalu, a transfer from City College, contributed 17 points and freshman guard Andrew Dixon finished with 11 for Mount Carmel. Sophomore guard Mathani Paul-Swinson posted a game-high 24 points for McDonogh (1-2).

The Eagles, which beat St. Vincent Pallotti on the road Saturday, head to Towson for a match with Calvert Hall College Wednesday evening. Mount Carmel hosts Gilman School Wednesday afternoon.
