For the second straight day, weather disrupted the area high school athletic schedule. Severe thunderstorm watches during the late afternoon/early evening hours forced the postponement of several football games Thursday.
Anne Arundel and Howard counties cancelled its football slate Thursday evening. Anne Arundel has rescheduled those games for Friday afternoon at 4 p.m. including No. 7 Arundel at No. 4 Old Mill.
Howard County will play its football contests Monday evening at 6:30 p.m. Four games in Baltimore County were postponed Thursday.
Eastern Tech at Randallstown, Overlea vs. Dundalk at CCBC-Dundalk, Kenwood vs. Lansdowne and Perry Hall were postponed. The Catonsville at Dulaney contest was stopped in the second quarter and will be resumed Monday at 4 p.m. Catonsville was leading 14-7.
Chesapeake was leading Woodlawn 6-0 at halftime when officials decided to stop because of the unsafe weather conditions. A decision is pending on when the game will be resumed.
St. Mary’s non-league match with Bullis Prep was postponed Thursday. The game will be played Friday at 3 p.m. on St. Mary’s field on Bestgate Road in Annapolis.
No. 10 Mount St. Joseph’s contest at Landon School in Montgomery County and 16th ranked North Harford match at Albert Einstein in Montgomery was also postponed Thursday.
Hawks coach Ken Brinkman and Mount St. Joseph coach Blake Henry said Friday morning their games will not be played.
Severe heat in the region Wednesday afternoon forced the postponement of athletic events high school athletic events in Baltimore City, Baltimore County and Howard County.
