With the post-season starting Friday, the first step to National Prep success starts with this weekend’s MIAA Conference Tournament, held at Mount St. Joe on Friday and Saturday.
The two day tournament has the top eight wrestlers from the MIAA doing battle to claim the top spot among Baltimore-are private schools, and put themselves in good standing for next week’s Maryland Independent School States.
It is no surprise that MIAA regular season champion Archbishop Spalding has the largest number of projected finalists, anticipating eight wrestlers in the finals, while Mount St. Joe, St. Paul’s and McDonough each are projected to send for.
John Carroll, if the tournament goes according to the seeding, will have three wrestlers in the final round.
But only time and this weekend’s competition will tell who will reign number one. Below is a tournament schedule and tournament seeding by weightclass.
