Despite heavy rain today, all of Thursday’s MIAA soccer semifinal playoff games remain on schedule to be played, according to the league office.
Fortunately, five of the six games, in the three conferences, were slated to played on turf fields and the sixth one, Mount Carmel at Key School, has now been moved to a synthetic surface. The Obezags will now host the Cougars at Annapolis High School, with the start time for their C Conference showdown being moved to 6:30 p.m.
In the A Conference, third-seeded McDonogh will visit second-seeded Mount St. Joseph and fifth-seeded Loyola will travel to top-seeded Gilman. Both games are slated to begin at 3:15 p.m.
In the B Conference, Friends will host Boys’ Latin and Annapolis Area Christian will be at St. Paul’s. Friends and BL will begin at 3:15, while AACS and St. Paul’s will get underway at 3:30 p.m.
The other C Conference game will feature Saints Peter & Paul at Baltimore Lutheran, also at 3:15 p.m.
The C Conference title game is scheduled for Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at Archbishop Spalding. On Sunday, the A & B Conference championships will also be decided at Spalding. The B Conference game is slated for 2:00 p.m., followed by the A Conference at 4:30 p.m.
VSN will update immediately if circumstances change.
