On Sunday, August 22, at McDonogh School’s Ceres M. Horn Theatre, the Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association and the Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland will host a special workshop for coaches, presented by Duke University Professor of Sports Psychology and Sport Ethics Gregory A. Dale, Ph.D.

Dr. Dale’s presentation, “Developing the Credible Coach A Model for Success…,” is based on his book entitled The Seven Secrets of Successful Coaches: How to Unlock and Unleash Your Team’s Full Potential.

The importance of earning credibility with athletes will be stressed during the workshop, as well as the dynamics of group development and productivity.

The event will get underway at 4:15 p.m. with a light dinner and refreshments.  At 5:00 p.m., introductory remarks will be made by Rick Diggs, Executive Director of the MIAA, and Sue Thompson, Executive Director of the IAAM, as well as Rick Conniff, MD/DE State Director for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and Randy Chambers, with the FCA Coaches Ministry.

The event is being presented by FCA and KTBA Payroll.  Dr. Dale’s presentation will begin at 5:10 p.m. and conclude at 6:45 p.m.
