Big second quarter propels Mustangs for a 55-41 win over Northeast
The Meade boys’ basketball team picked up its 10th win of the season and its sixth in league play, Friday, as the Mustangs defeated Northeast, 55-41, in Anne Arundel County action.
After building a four-point lead at the end of one quarter, Meade turned it up on both ends of the court, outscoring the host Eagles 19-6 in the second quarter as the Mustangs built a commanding 17-point advantage at the half.
Kahleem Jennings powered the offense with 17 points, while Tre Dunn just missed a double-double with 13 points and nine rebounds. In addition, Osagie Evbuomwan and Tyler Jills combined for 15 points.
Meade (10-3 overall) is now 6-2 in the conference and fourth place in the County. However, the Mustangs are only one loss back of the three teams ahead of them – North County (7-1), Annapolis (6-1) and Old Mill (5-1).
Northeast is now 4-9 overall and 0-7 in the league.
