Recent McDonogh School graduate Cooper Flynn traveled to Fargo, North Dakota this week to compete in the 2021 US Marine Corps Freestyle Junior National Wrestling Championships and placed third in 120-pound division.

Competing for his home state of Tennessee, Flynn is ranked #2 in the nation and entered as the top-seed. He was upset in the quarterfinals by Kannon Webster of Illinois, the eventual champion.

Earlier this year, Flynn, who will wrestle at Virgina Tech this fall, was named VSN’s No. 3 Lower Weight Wrestler of the Decade.
