In a battle of undefeated softball teams in the IAAM B Conference, McDonogh visited Catholic High on Wednesday at Patterson Park, and the Eagles held off the host Cubs for a 7-6 win.
Senior Kara Hoppes led McDonogh with three hits and a RBI. Freshman Liz Feaser also had three hits, while her rookie classmates Megan Haag and Wendy Folfas each had two hits and one RBI.
McDonogh out-hit Catholic, 16-10.
Carly Delauder pitched for Catholic and finished with six strikeouts. Folfas picked up her fourth win of the season for McDonogh, walking one while striking out seven.
