McCormick Unsung Heroes Award

Since 1940, honoring youth who are role
models of sportsmanship and team spirit.

Annually McCormick & Company honors the youth of the Baltimore area with the Unsung Heroes Award. Local high schools — public, private and parochial – nominate an Unsung Hero from their boys’ football team and girls’ basketball team who display noteworthy qualities such as:

• sportsmanship
• dedication
• integrity
• positive attitude

In addition to these noteworthy character traits, the award is for those young men and women who have NOT been recognized before for their valued team contributions.
That is what sets this award program apart from other sports recognition events.

Another major attribute that makes this event so special is the Charles Perry McCormick Scholarship. An independent panel reviews the nomination information for Unsung Heroes from each school and selects one young man and one young woman who have been exemplary in their team contributions and awards them the Charles Perry McCormick scholarship.

The Scholarship is worth $36,000 over four years. It’s a special award program that recognizes those who make a difference. With the generous scholarship award, lives can be changed.
