Samantha Darcangelo scored in the first half and the lone tally stood for the Maryvale Preparatory School field hockey team in a 1-0 victory over host Mount de Sales Academy in a IAAM B Conference game Tuesday.
The Lions improved to 6-4 overall and are now in a tie for first place in the B Conference with a 5-1 confernece record. Mount de Sales fell to 6-2, 4-1.
Victoria Gottleib had six saves for Mount de Sales while the shutout defense for Maryvale was led by Maggie Fuggie, Kaylin Ziemba and goalie Katie Lentz, who had five saves.
