There won’t be an all-IAAM B Conference matchup at the North Carroll Holiday Tournament as Maryvale Prep was victorious Monday while Notre Dame Prep fell short.
The No. 19 Blazers dropped a 54-51 decision to Linganore from Frederick County. Samatha Buls scored 12 points for Linganore and pulled down 12 rebounds, and Lexi Kebetz added 10. Katie McKenna led all scorers with 20 points for Notre Dame Prep (6-1 overall), and Rachel Quinn added 11.
The unbeaten Lancers (6-0) will take on Maryvale Prep for the title Tuesday evening at 7:30 p.m. The Lions received 23 points, five rebounds, six assists from senior guard Carolyn Hildreth in a 60-46 victory over tournament host North Carroll.
Sophomore forward Lauren Eckholm added a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds. After starting the season with three consecutive losses, the Lions (4-4) have won four of their last five decisions.
Hildreth was 9 for 17 from the field including 5 for 10 from behind the arc. Senior guard Ashley Helmrath added eight points including two three-pointers, and junior guard Meghan Hildreth added four points, 10 assists and six steals. Senior guard Besi Sheshi added five points and six rebounds.
Allison Shinsky led the Panthers with 19 points, and Jena Ruby added 15. North Carroll will play Notre Dame Prep in the consolation match at 1 p.m. Tuesday.
