Trailing by one run in the bottom of the eighth inning, time was running out on No. 16 Marriotts Ridge.
In the top of the frame, Morgan Culler’s safety squeeze plated E. Vogan to give the visiting Vikings a 7-6 lead.
But the Mustangs tied the game in the home half of the eighth when Amy Mitchell scored on a single by Danielle Lein. Kaitlin Paddy hit the game-winning double to play Lein and give Marriotts Ridge the 8-7 victory.
The Mustangs started the scoring in the first when Lindsay Kellner led off with a walk and was driven in by a Brianna Freeman single.
Freeman pitched all eight innings, scattering seven hits while striking out four batters.
Mount Hebron took the lead in the third inning by scoring three runs (Culler, Bianca, and Cadigan). Marriotts Ridge tied the game in the bottom the third on RBI doubles from Lein and Megan Hamilton.
Down by two runs, the Mustangs scored twice in the bottom of the sixth. Amy Mitchell and Felicia Pereira hit back-to-back, two out singles and were driven in by a Lein’s first double of the game.
