Marriotts Ridge’s girls soccer team jumped into the Varsity Sports Network Top 20 Poll this week and after another win there is no doubt they belong.
On Wednesday afternoon, the visiting Mustangs downed Wilde Lake, 4-1, in Howard County action.
Katherine Kanner, Maxine Brewer, Hailey Whiting and Alexandra Price all scored a goal for Marriotts Ridge which improves to 2-0-1 overall and 2-0 in Howard County.
Price and Morgan Crable added assists. Kristene Mumby stopped three shots for the Mustangs.
Gillian Sawyer scored the lone goal for the Wildecats (0-2, 0-1) on a penalty shot after a handball was called in the both with four minutes to play.

Katie Kanner scored MR first goal @ 17:31 in the first half. Kanner headed in a cross from Alexandra Price.
Maxine Brewer scored MR second goal @ 15:59 in the first half. Brewer finished off a shot from Kara Schaffer which hit off the crossbar.
Hailey Whiting scored MR third goal @ 5:22 in the first half. Whiting volleyed in a beautiful cross from Morgan Crable.
Alexandra Price score MR fourth goal @ 31:05 in the second. Price’s goal was a penalty kick given for a foul (push) in the box.
